TRAINING COURSE OUTLINE

 

NATIONAL ACCREDITED UNITS OF COMPETENCY

Butt Weld Polyethylene Plastic Pipelines  – PMBWELD301B PIA Butt Weld  training courses for polyethylene pressure pipes and fittings, procedures, QAQC documentation, reports. PIPA POP 003 Single low pressure parameters. ISO21307 single low and high pressure welding parameters.

 

Electro fusion weld polyethylene pipelines – PMBWELD302B Electrofusion welding training for both manual and automatic the preparation of pies and fittings, weld timing, ambient temperatures, pressure ratings , cool down and causes of weld failure etc

 

Weld plastic using extrusion techniques – PMBWELD309B based on German guidelines. Extrusion Welding will give you the ability to weld plastic liner for welding ponds, tanks, plastic sheeting, boats, car parts etc. welding different density and compounds of  plastics,  extrusion and triac hot air equipment , for welding of PE,PP and PVC materials together.  Wedge welding and socket welding based on German Guidelines.

 

Identification of materials being used in the installation as being compatible for welding.

 

Calculation of appropriate welding parameters and settings

calibration of plastic welding equipment

 

> Performance of weld to required standards

> Assessment of quality of completed welds/joints.QA QC weld register forms and causes of possible weld failure

 

UPON COMPLETION

Upon successful completion of the PIA course you are issued with:
> Statement of attainment
> Welder card
> Welding stamp (for butt-welding course)
Most importantly, you will be a confident and employable plastic welder.

 

ASSESSMENT

The assessment is divided into two parts:

> A theoretical, written assessment comprised of a series of multiple choice and short answer questions

> practical assessment of welding skills in both individual and group exercises.
